New poles and existing fittings.
Include the number of windows and whether each is straight or a bay. Pole and track systems differ, so send the exact product and explain which of these jobs you need:

| Your job | What to include in the enquiry |
|---|---|
| A new pole | The complete pole kit, curtains, window measurements and preferred hem position. |
| Replacing an old pole | The new kit plus photos of the existing brackets, removal needed and any redundant holes to finish. |
| A loose or failed support | The bracket and wall damage, pole and curtain details, and when the movement began. |
If you are considering a bay system, track, ceiling mounting or blinds, send its instructions so the exact job can be assessed before it is accepted. The curtain-pole guide helps with measurements and support checks; it does not establish suitability for every specialist system.
Check curtains, position and brackets together.
The curtain heading and drop affect the pole position. Send the curtain details, window width, pole length and a photo that includes the surrounding wall. Mention radiators, projecting handles, nearby cupboards and limited space for finials.
Confirm the supplied brackets and any centre support against the manufacturer's instructions. The intended opening arrangement matters too: an ordinary centre bracket can stop standard rings passing across it. Check the complete kit before the visit rather than discovering a missing support after marking out.
Loose brackets need a fixing assessment.
If a bracket is pulling away, avoid continuing to use or pull on the pole. Send close-ups of the bracket and surrounding wall, plus a wider window photo. Damaged board, a spinning plug and a loose bracket screw require different responses.
We need to assess the supporting material and mounting load before choosing a repair. Filling an enlarged hole cosmetically is not a substitute for a suitable fixing. Include filling redundant holes or repainting as separate finishing work.
Prepare a fitting enquiry.
- Your postcode and number of windows.
- The pole or track link, instructions and supplied bracket details.
- Curtain heading, dimensions and any known weight information.
- Window photos, proposed hem position and access restrictions.
We will discuss product suitability, fixings, work, materials and price before an appointment. If you are still choosing curtains, say so; it is better to clarify the position before holes are made. The curtain-pole guide explains the planning decisions in more detail.
Check the curtains as well as the pole.
The final check includes the curtains' normal opening movement, their hem position, finial clearance and any centre support. A pole can be level while the fabric catches a sill or the rings cannot travel as intended. Have the intended curtains or their exact measurements available when discussing the position.
Keep the product instructions after fitting. Replacing light curtains with a substantially heavier pair can change the demands on the pole, brackets and wall fixings. If a support starts moving, stop pulling on the curtains and arrange a check rather than tightening an unknown fixing repeatedly.
